Working as an RN in psychiatric units and emergency rooms since 1994, I saw that people with substance abuse issues had no where to turn after 5pm and often ended up in psychiatric units because there was no where for them to go.. I wanted to open an inpatient detox unit that was accessible 24 hours a day to serve those in need, when they needed our help.
