Why Summa Health Addiction Medicine Intensive Outpatient Program - Hudson Campus?
The Addiction Medicine Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is part of the Summa Health Behavioral Health Institute. Summa Health St Thomas Hospital has strong roots in the history of addiction treatment. Sister Ignatia, Hospital Administrator, and Dr. Bob Smith, a skilled surgeon and co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, made history when they admitted the first alcoholic patient to the hospital in 1939.
Since that time, Summa Health has continued its commitment to the treatment of addiction. As a whole, the system provides inpatient detox services, intensive outpatient programming, outpatient treatment options, addiction medicine physicians, and medication assisted treatment (MAT), including Vivitrol® and Suboxone®. A Vivitrol® Clinic is located within the Addiction Medicine IOP program at St Thomas. In addition, we work collaboratively with other community providers to meet additional treatment needs of those we serve.
The Summa Health Behavioral Health Institute is much more than just addiction medicine treatment. It integrates behavioral health, addiction and medicine, providing both inpatient and outpatient care options for a broad range of behavioral health issues.
The Addiction Medicine Intensive Outpatient Program is available in 4 locations: Akron, Canton, Hudson and Barberton.
